Question on selling ViP722k

I put my 722k on eBay a couple days ago, and now I have someone asking for the smartcard # and the R0 #.
First question, is it ok to give that out? I'm sure they're just checking with Dish that it's clear to use, but wanted to be sure.

Second question is there is no card in the slot. Do I have to hook this thing up to get that number if it's ok to give to the inquiring party?

I would just give them the Receiver number, as only this is needed to check the status of transferring it to another account. Just be sure you don't give them any of your other personal info

The R00# is 0n the back of the receiver, or underneath on a few receivers.

You may also want to make sure Dish has it listed as an owned receiver. There are many reported cases where Dish listed them as leased when they shouldn't be.

I have sold plenty of receivers on ebay, and to be honest if I state the receiver is clean it is clean. You should not have to provide this info, as there is always ebay and paypal buyer protection.

Bad advice, Claude. If I'm buying and the seller is refusing to provide receiver number, I wouldn't buy from them even if they do say it's clean. Sure there is buyer protection, but why put the burden on ebay, paypal or the customer hassle of having to invoke buyer protection if you don't have to.
