I'm new here and have read a few post but yet to find the answer.. Must I hook up phone lines to each IRD or will I get a charge back? and what about cell only homes? Is it the law or just a Dtv "want" ?

DirecTV strongly encourages phone lines to be connected to each IRD, but it is not a requirement unless you want to order PPV with your remote control...and it is by no means a law.

There is no charge if your receiver is not connected to a phone line.

There's no charge for the customer, but it seems that installers are getting charged. That's just plain stupid since many people don't have land lines any longer.

I have broken stranger laws....why just last week I cut the tag off of a pillow...
