Flat cables represent a compromise between optimum power transfer and getting any signal at all in through a door or window. Their loss tends to be pretty high and they have a high potential to cause reflections (leading to multipath). I've seen some newer flat cables that look more like ribbons and they may (or may not) be better than the old smashed coax cables.

I got a Question
When there is live football on tv on Sunday and Saturday I get a blue stripe
that goes up and down in the mlddle of my screen,I don’t get that on any other channels except what there is live sports is there a reason the networks send a signal like that?

What networks? Is it professional sports or is it pro and college? Is the blue line moving or stationary in the center of your screen?

If it is both Saturday and Sunday, it is likely that both college and pro sports are involved.

The networks answer is key and much more detail about the nature of the "blue stripe" is needed: is it wide or narrow, horizontal or vertical (up and down could be a moving horizontal stripe or a vertical stripe), does it appear on your roommate's TV -- that kind of detail.

Absent detail, I can only guess that it might be the line of scrimmage.

If the color settings are off, it could be the new yards to gain change on the broadcasts this year. The Network are making the yards to gain a darker shade than the rest of the field, along with the usual gold first down stripe overlay.

Both college and pro and It was a light blue line about a inch wide going straight down the middle of the tv
