I have to get photos another time but basically my Reed sensor stopped counting in my actuator. No surprise because it is likely 25 years old. But I have a similar actuator that has a good sensor but a worn motor. I'd like to swap the sensor. Anyone else done this before? Looks simple enough but I rather ask for advice.

Pretend you are replacing a set of points in a old motor, I would say about a 20 thousands air gap between the wheel and sensor.
Oops fat fingered 10 thousands.

Would it be possible that I messed up the sensor while cleaning old spider nests out of the actuator? I may have accidentally installed the magnet wheel upside down now that I think about it.
