relocating

No one could "be with DiSH for >30 years". Service inception occurred in 1996.
Sorry, I was off a year. I have been with Dish network since they started
Why do you want 3 hopper 3's.. you can lease the first box then the other two would need to be purchased there 270.00 on solid signal plus shipping. Plus you will need special permission from dish for the third hopper!!! Why not one hopper 3 one ota dongle and the rest Joey 4's. The hopper 3 is more than powerful enough to run a home with no issues!!! When buying the cost can add up real fast!!! 3 hoppers would increase your bill by 45.00 more a month plus taxes
I guess I can think about it. I was going from 5 Hopper 2's to 3 Hopper 3's so I thought I was downsizing. I had special permission for the 5 Hopper 2's. I pretty much got the go ahead from my contact at Dish for the 3 Hopper 3's. I was going to start with 2 Hopper 3's and a Joey and keep the rest of my existing Hopper 2's for now until I had the funds to slowly upgrade the rest of the setup. You have me thinking about this now. Everyone in our family of 5 wants to have they're own DVR. Our biggest issue was everyone wanted to record they're own things and I still get complaints about not enough space for recordings. I'm open to suggestions on how to fix this?

Didn't you have an install today? How did it go? I thought you said you ordered 3 Hopper 3's? What did your setup end up being?

Yes I had an install today. I did order 3 hopper 3. Sending two back. I swapped the 4k Joey for a Joey 4 and added a second Joey 4. Can't hook the hoppers together and make a media server kinda pointless. I did keep a wireless Joey incase I want it for later. Nothing crazy!!! A hopper 3 can handle 5 joeys no issues and still leave 10 tuners open minus the tuner prime time uses. I don't know if you can have hopper 2's with hopper 3's

So you ended up with One Hopper 3, Two Joey 4's and a wireless Joey? Is that the complete setup? Was this a new install for you or an upgrade? Can you tell me which dish they installed? Which LNB? Which Switches, Splitters?

Hopper 3 has six Joeys limit.

it was a movers install and not an upgrade since i own my hopper and joeys.. yes 1 hopper and 2 joey 4's now and 1 wireless joey!!! our dish is a dish 500 dish in black with a red dish logo. the LNB is a slimline LNB hybrid with bracket looking at the 110 &119 birds.. one coax run from the dish to a solo hub then two holland splitters one port terminated... It's almost like a dtv swm install!!! The whole point of more than one hopper was to try an create one big media center but linking hoppers together in the type of situation is a no go...
