Hey All!

I was wondering if a Directv RF remote is compatible with a HR-24 receiver?

You can use their remotes with any receiver.

Just to be a bit more specific, you can use any of the white Directv remotes with any Directv branded box. All of the HR models are rf capable. I'm not sure if all of the H models are.

Normally the HR2x receivers come with an RF remote standard - did you check to see if yours IS already an RF remote?
If it has an FCC ID sticker on the bottom, then you have one.

The RF remote has a model number RC65RX (above the TV Input button). As was already said, the HR receivers are RF capable, and the H24 is also capable. The H25 requires a separate dongle to make it RF ready. And yes, the HR24s DO come with the RF remote, but it is defaulted to IR mode.

To change the receiver/remote to RF mode, Menu > Parental, Fav's & Setup > System Setup > Remote Control > IR/RF Setup

Switch Remote Type to RF, and click Continue. Follow the onscreen directions for programming the remote to RF.
