s-2 reception

I guess it looks like we are all going to have to receivers with DVB S-2
capabilities. More and more feeds are moving that direction.

I am hoping the S-2 kit from pansat for my 9200 is not a disspointment.

The tuner in my pansat 9200 won't lock the G3C equity mux (standar dvb) but my fortec ultra connected to the same dish locks it without any pixelization.

I can't figure that one out. frequencies and s/r's are identical in both receivers.

The tuner in the 9200 has a reputation of being deaf. There's quite a few posts about it at SatForums.

You have that right! It seems very deaf compared to my older Fortec Ultra Lifetime receivers.

The quality readings are always lower too.

I really like my 9200, but I don't think the add in card is worth $200. I think I would rather buy a separate STB for S2 if the price is close. I would like see Pansat release the software for the SATA port PVR functionality.
