remember this thing only needs to be accurate to 1 or 2 yards, not 200.

No picture to show you, but I have used my portable Magnetic CB antenna set on the exact center of the dish plate and align the antenna vertical by eye to ensure it is perfectly centered on the feed horn, but this does not ensure the feed horn is parallel and perpendicular; that I do by measurement.

I use a torpedo laser level. It either fits inside the feedhorn or across the face (after I have verified the lip is cut or cast to exactly 90 deg.

Used to have the mechanical rod as pictured, until it got bent from too many years riding in the work truck.
