ok
I have a question that keeps bugging me
i here all this hubbub about SD quality being not that great
I have to tell you I have a Dishnet PVR522
and the SD quality is a little less then i expected although it
is through a S-video connection
I am hoping all of these reports i here on sd are similar
because i would think thru DVI the SD should be alot
more clear then i am viewing right now
I have a 43" Samsung DLP and plan on using the DVI
I Plan on leaving Dish Hooked up for now to Compare the
Quality

No DVI connection will not improve the PQ of the SD channels. As long as D*, E*, & V* compress these channels to the point they are unwatchable on a large screen, the old saying will still apply - garbage in, garbage out. In your case with a DLP that was made with a purpose of watching HD is even worse.

SD Pic Quality

I am not sure why my SD pq is so good. Except for a few channels like Style I see lots of compress and foxsports world is a little fuzzy, but I did a side by side comparison of all three and would thand the SD pic quality as:

1) VOOM
2) Direct
3) Dish
4) Cable

I think some of the SD quality is great! Some is not. But its like complaining about the design of the ashtray in a Porsche.
