My Wife got a membership on Amazon Prime a year or two ago and has downloaded the entire 8 season set of one of their offerings. Problem is, I'm a "backup guy" and I normally backup most things like this and I've searched and searched and I'm not able to find ANY of those files to back up???

So, anyone on here happen to know where Amazon puts those files when she downloads them to her laptop??

Just saying.....................

I do not see an option to download any of the content I "own" on Prime. Of course, I don't think it would do you much good if you could find the downloads as they are sure to be DRM-protected.

Pretty sure these are stored in an encrypted or proprietary format that can only be opened by the Amazon Prime app on the device they were downloaded to, for content protection reasons. I don't think you've ever been able to download unencrypted media from Amazon (and most other subscribers).

Edit: Where Are Amazon Prime Video Downloads Stored [Updated]

That site says they're in a hidden folder here:

PC:
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Packages\AmazonVideo.PrimeVideo_pwbj9vvecjh7j\LocalState\Downloads

Mac:
  1. Launch Finder, at the top menu, select "Go" and choose "Go to Folder".
  2. Type "~/Library" and hit Enter.
  3. Select Containers > Prime Video > Data> Library > com.apple.UserManagedAssets, and the DRM files are there.
