Do they make a mesh 6 foot bud that can take a 2 3/8" Mast? You all told me before that most of them where 3 to 3 and a 1/4, or around that. Lets say I took and slid PVC over a 2 3/8 inch mast to make it 3 inch. Would this mount in the linky hold it up? I know that I can come up with enough weight to put on the base, but what I am worried about is the metal being strong enough to hold the weight. To get an idea of the dish type I am using, in relation to weight, click on the seccond link. I am hoping that someone has one of these mounts so that they can tell me about it.

Yea, pretty the people that I am renting a house from, and moving in to on Monday, are not too fond of me planting a mast in the ground.

I would not suggest using ABS shims on a smaller post. Usually these 2 3/8" posts are thin wall pipe and will not stand up to wind loads.

A local welding shop should be able to assemble a proper size pipe with braces to a base. Bring it home, shim to level (if motorized) then stack on sand bags, cement blocks or any other weight that you have handy. I have a portable stand made for $50 out of angle iron and a 4' pipe. Load on 10 or 12 cement blocks and it is very stable.
