Hello

Is anybody receiving transponder 5 (11811 H 11150) and 18 (12044 V 3200) at SES-2 87.1W?

In case of receiving, please specify location (state), dish size and LNB model.

I'm trying to perform a fine setup of my motorized offset dish (0.9 m) and this satellite is the closest to my longitude, but I cannot get any signal from it.

Getting both here in southwestern Ontario, using a 75e dish (Shaw Direct xKu Quad LNB).

If you are having trouble locking the satellite, I'd suggest using 11961 H 29997 or 11780 V 4999 (data) to point with as they are two of the strongest TPs I get.

Receiving both now. TP5 is 7.2 dB and TP18 is 9.2 dB.

I'm in southern British Columbia. My dish is 1-metre. LNB is Invacom QPH-031.
Thanks. I think that with a 0.9 m I will struggle getting the signal, but knowing that TP19 has more power. then I will focus my attention on this one. That LNB is one of the best in the market, 0.3 dB figure Noise tested in each unit.

Thanks. That info helps a lot. I don't see the info of those transponders in LyngSat.

11960 H 30000 is listed in Lyngsat as CNN Newsource feeds.

11780 V 5000 is definitely the strongest on 87W. Use it for dish orientation. But it won't scan in since it's a data tp. Or orient using 11960 H 30000.

DON'T use 11811 H 11150 for initial dish orientation since you must be precisely pointed to receive it. This one is good for final dish orientation.

You will get some replies if you do the following:
1. Create a new thread of your own.
2. Summarize the equipment you have.
3. State your approximate location.
4. Explain what you have done so far to try to receive satellites.
5. State what you are trying to receive.
6. Include some photos of your installation as it is today.
