Greetings,

I just bought a new motorized fta kit. This is my first experience in fta.

Have some fun watching ia5. Very interesting. However, I was loosing signal quite frequently earlier today. Usualy near 90-95 quality. With frequent drop to 5-10 quality.

Inspection of the antenna showed that the wind was moving the antenna. The lnb was shaking about 2-3 inch.

The motor by itself doesn't move. It is solid on the pole, but by manually pushing the dish, it seem there is about half-degree slack in the motor rod ( where the dish hold ) which result in the lnb movement.

Is this normal ?

This is brand new. If this is not normal, I will contact the dealer to have the motor replaced.

Normal , I have same Motor and can confirm that there is movement as you described.

Live with it or get a stationary dish for IA-5

Thank for the information.

I find it odd that the said in the manual that the precision of the motor is 0.1° while there is such a slack.

All Stabs slack big time.

Buy a Moteck instead, they are tidy in their construction.
