Software Update Today

At this point nobody should be using Windows 7.

How about for those of us who hate Microsoft and giving them all our info? Did you know that you can't even set hours on your child's W10 PC any more without using a Microsoft account for both accounts? It's none of Microsoft's GD business! Scumbags.

OK now in dark mode and everything appears perfect. If the smart people can't fix what they broke, I guess I'll just have to get used to this.

Reminds me of looking at negative photography.
You don't see broken icons next to the number of posts or next to your Name for the Profile ?

You're living in the wrong century. I know a place where you can feel safe and secure.

There use to be a way to keep the info under the Avatar stay expanded. Can someone help me find the setting? Thanks.

Those of you who are using windows 7, be very careful as those systems are prone to easy hacking and identity theft.
If you follow the vulnerability reports, subsequent versions of Windows aren't significantly safer by themselves and they offer a few new vulnerabilities so that's just a hazard of running Windows. If you're going to run any version of Windows, you should be using a good third-party anti virus/malware/stupidity application.

Anyone who is doing e-mail (especially webmail or Outlook) and web browsing on a production machine needs to give serious consideration to not doing it. A basic Internet machine is a cheap and easy solution to avoiding most of the risks of the Internet.

On both my Win 7 and Linux boxen with Firefox most all of the iconography is showing three-byte hex codes rather than the images. Windows 10 looks fine.

UPDATE: I purged 249KB of SatelliteGuys site data and cookies from the Firefox cache and the icons are fixed. A side benefit is that a lot of the most intrusive ads are gone.

Just tried this ^^^ and it works. Thanks harshness! Now the hex code icons are gone.

Here are the steps that worked for me:

In Firefox:
1) Choose the 'Preferences menu
2) Select 'Privacy and Security' on the left side of the screen
3) Go to 'Cookies and Site Data' in the middle of the screen
4) Click the 'Manage Data' button
5) Put 'satelliteguys' in the search bar
6) You should see satelliteguys show up in the list.
7) Click the 'Remove Selected' button
8) Repeat steps 5 through 7 in case there are multiple listings for satelliteguys. If no more appear then you are done.

Thanks for the process. I tried to locate similar settings in Chrome and got the list of 13 cookies stored for Satelliteguys. I closed Chrome and reopened it and had to log back in. Still did not fix what this new software broke in default so back to using the dark mode which still works fine.

Clearing all cookies worked for me in Chrome this morning. I'm back to using SG Default again.

Well that's promising. I only cleaned the cookies for satelliteguys. Maybe I need to do it for all other sites. Not sure why that would make a difference.

I tried deleting the site data from other Xenforo sites on my Linux box and that didn't help either. It is still having problems on the Linux box (Firefox 78.0esr) and I don't understand enough about how alternate character sets are handled yet to figure out where the icons are stored.
