Software Update Today

Today I went thru all the various styles of options for our site ....
Seeing I have tried and now find I like the "Dark with Sticky" the best ... now the others are just WAY too Bright .... imagine that.

Anyways, it looks like the Dark are the only ones with the Similar Threads issue still ... unfortunately.

Please .... can we turn them off ...

One of the issue I have with it is, invariably, my mouse end up on the right side of the page and ends up hovering on something that makes part of the page cover up what I'm trying to read. (turns out if I happen to hover over the name of the last person to post, it will pop up thier info page and cover part of the screen)

Not that I like the “Similar threads” feature, but I am agreeing with harshness. I use the SatelliteGuys Default and those suggestions are below.

Yep, similar threads are on all styles.
They are down below the reply box, so I don't understand the issue as to why they are hated.

Jimbo you say yours are at the right? That is really odd, maybe that is why you hate them.

Try logging out of SatelliteGuys. Then go and clear all cache for SatelliteGuys. Log back in and see if you are still having an issue.

No, you misunderstood what I was trying to say ...
When I'm reading a thread or post, my mouse is typically on the right side, below the area to replay, because the Similar threads are below as well, I invariably end up with the curser on some ones name or post below and it will bring up thier info taking up a part of the viewing area.

I'm using Chrome ... how do I clear cache for just Sat Guys, so I don't have to wipe out all my setting in Chrome ?

My objection to "Similar threads" is that sometime a external Social Media entry made previously in the thread will finally load, or some other dynamic web activity takes place, and it adjusts the length of the page, sometimes moving my cursor to now be over the first or second of the similar threads.

Which, be fair, are not usually nothing remotely related to the current thread. Right now, for example, I'm seeing "Dish wally compatible dish?"; "Hopper 3 VOD weirdness"; and "Self install Orby TV using old FTA dish" as the top three "Similar" threads. I'd be more tolerant of the "Feature" if it was actually right most of the time. It must use "Ask Jeeves" for its search algorithm. ;)

Oh, has anyone gotten the GIF button in the Toolbar to work? Each time I've tried it and tried to type in some search term, I get a "Oops!" pop-up:

So, Scott Greczkowski, it looks like your GIF theme button is trying to inject SQL into the SatelliteGuys Database. That would be bad. You should make the button go away.

I show the same ones along with 2 others about DISH and new software coming .... none of it is relevent.

Not relevant, but consistent.;)

The award for most screwy “Similar thread” is on the Friday Night Recipes thread. It’s an almost 14-year old thread last posted to by vurbano.

Looks like we can’t see when someone last posted anymore. At least, not by clicking on Vurbano in the previous post.
