Can you please tell me... when this new 522 software becomes avail do I have to do anything "special" to get the software? I mean, I know I read in this forum that if you go to a certain menu and shut the 522 off for 15 mins, the software will download.... but what if I don't do that? Or what if I don't even know there IS new software? Will it come down to my box on its own without me doing anything? BTW: anyone heard anything in the last few days on when this latest bug-fix will be released?

All you need to do is make sure both tuners are turned off before you go to bed. (Some people say you don't even need to do that.) If any updates are available, they'll be downloaded overnight (3am by default, I think).

As long as automatic updates are enabled, the receive will power itself down at the specified time and take the download.
