Nice. Presumably faster at writes than tape. Well, that ain't hard to do.

But still waiting for the nexgen BD, which might not even be called BD. But with support for "4K" UHDTV and "8K" UHDTV and advanced 3D support.

That is pretty cool,talk about storing pictures and videos!Just hope it will be affordable.One would think that it would be cheaper than hdds.
 
Awesome. Burning backups to DVD is a pain, and my tower is out of space for more hard drives (unless I replace them with bigger ones). I'm sure it'd be a big investment, but burning a big video collection to a single disc would be much better than what I have now. I'm a sucker for redundant backups.
