I was giving a Sony Digital Satellite Receiver (DSS SAT-A3), I would like to know if this receiver is of any good use for FTA?

I have played with it for about an hour, it seem to have been use in conjunction with a DirecTV box. The receiver came with an access card, which I have removed.

So far I have not been able to make it show any of the Galaxy 19 channels. I do not know if this thing can tell the different between Circular or Linear signals, LOL. Any information or help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Maybe if you had a Phase III dish to go with it, you could watch a DirecTV info card if they broadcast any. Seems pretty useless. ;)
you may get channel 100 & 201 which is a PPV preview type channel. But if the card is old (probably) all you have is a nice doorstop

My G19 97W Signals tweaked by new meter. Are these good?
