Sony DSS SAT -A3

I was giving a Sony Digital Satellite Receiver (DSS SAT-A3), I would like to know if this receiver is of any good use for FTA?

I have played with it for about an hour, it seem to have been use in conjunction with a DirecTV box. The receiver came with an access card, which I have removed.

So far I have not been able to make it show any of the Galaxy 19 channels. I do not know if this thing can tell the different between Circular or Linear signals, LOL. Any information or help is appreciated.

It's an old directv box it won't work for fta

Maybe if you had a Phase III dish to go with it, you could watch a DirecTV info card if they broadcast any. Seems pretty useless.

you may get channel 100 & 201 which is a PPV preview type channel. But if the card is old (probably) all you have is a nice doorstop
