Two things... can u connect 2 4 way swm splitters and second thing.. If using just 1 hr24, is splitter required or just the power inverter ?

Sure you can connect 2 4 ways as long as you stay under 8 tuners. No splitter needed if you are only connecting one receiver/dvr.
So just join the two 4 ways with a coax and then I have 6 ports

You really should not connect two four way splitters because that creates the equivalent of a 16 way split and DirecTV "best practice" limits you to eight, otherwise the signal attenuation can be too high. That said, unless you have any long cable runs your 16 way split will probably work. Just bear the 8-way "limit" in mind if you start having problems.
