StarBand Unveils $39.99 Sat Web Service

Two-way satellite Internet provider StarBand unveiled a "Starter" plan for residential customers with a $39.99 monthly service fee covering 12 months.

The StarBand Starter plan provides Internet service with fewer plan features than StarBand's standard residential service. It offers download speeds up to 250 kilobits per second - typically more than five times faster than most dial-up providers - and a Web-based e-mail account.

Additional service plans are available for residential and small office customers with faster speeds and more robust features, the company said.

I'd advise anyone thinking about Starband to join StarbandUsers.Com first... it's worth the $15/yr. and was very helpful back when I had Starband. Forums, software downloads, etc.
