Strange OnDemand issue last night

Last night after watching an episode of a show that I had recorded off the Discovery Channel, I saw other episodes of the same show available OnDemand in the list of episodes in the DVR. I selected one of them to watch, it took me to the rental screen (was free) and looked like it had started to download. When I clicked "Watch Now" it said the episode had expired??? I tried it several times and it would not play the program, kept saying it was expired. I went back to it through the rented icon in the DVR menu, it showed the episode and said it had 29 days and whatever hours left before it expired. When I tried to watch it, it said it had expired even though it showed 29 days left.
