This evening I entered my vehicle, like I have done 10K times before, turned on the display to my smartphone, like I have also doine 10K time before, and my nuvi 780 immediate displayed an "updating bluetooth software" screen, which has never happened before. It was stuck on 0% and I had to reboot the unit to make the update screen go away.

The Garmin is updated with the latest and greatest firmware/map (via MyGarmin a few weeks ago) and, although bluetooth is enabled on the nuvi, it is disabled on my mobile device and there wasn't another vehicle within one city block. Anyway, I just can't figure out what would trigger this "update" and I can't find anything on the net. I hate unexplained happenings - any ideas?

Thanks!:hatsoff:

Garmin was downloading al your travels, as part of the terror investigation. Be sure to make some tim foil hats and get ready for the black ops helicopters:)

Seriously I wouldnt worry about it unless it spazes constantly.......

It could have gotten a bluetooth signal form a house or building that you were close to.
