For me $12 a week is worth it to me having virtually all the games every week, and of course most of them in HD. Flexibility and coverage. That's why I've had NFL ST since it started.

With local Fox, CBS & NBC feeds, as well as ESPN & ESPN2, despite the network adjustments on who covers what, it appears I'll get an average of 16-17 games each week and 12 or more will be in HD. I also get to watch my favorite team, which is not the local one, so blackouts are irrelevant (they sell out all season back home). Last year, I got to see 17 of their games overall in the regular season, 13 were in HD.

No one forces anyone to get ST, and the price is well worth it in comparison to going to one game in person (if there was even a chance to get tickets, which there isn't) -- 2 tickets, gas to the game, parking, and food for 2 people runs about $180. It's all about perspective. :up

Ok, if we're gonna talk about if it's even worth it to have ST I'd say yes...to a point. If the price goes into the $300's then no but, I live in San Diego and well we have the Chargers. Good/Bad all on the same play even:rolleyes: So I enjoy watching whoever has a good matchup that Sunday.

The original question I had though was: Has anyone been charged for their Sunday ticket renewal and for how much? Please indicate if it's just ST or ST+SF.
Thanks.

I have been charged the first of my five payments for ST, I am getting superfan at no charge. So I have no charge for that.

I got mine for $209 since I ordered in Feb. $229 for people that order it now. I've always had E* so this is my first time and will enjoy it. Especially when I get many B and C games here. The price being too much depends on your situation. I suppose I could get Fox E&W and request a waiver from CBS and along with locals get a decenct amount of games that cost little like I use to on E* but I want real deal at least one time. If I moved out of the area then I'd pay a lot more than $209 to watch my team every week.

Just got my statement in today's mail,(thought they were going to do online statements only for me starting in July?). 1st of 5 payments charged @ $41.80, SF @ no charge. Just got my 2nd HR10-250 this year installed 7/03/06 (1st one was PURCHASED in January), this one is leased of course. Installer would not run OTA line from my antennae on tower to new unit. He said only if they were installing an OTA antennae. Does anyone use the diplexing method of running OTA signal on same cable as D* signal? The option of me putting a 3rd hole in my wife's closet for a OTA direct line is out of the question.

How do you get the SF at no charge?? I just ordered DTV I'm paying 69.99 for 4 months but I'm getting the Total Choice Plat / HD / DVR option free for 4 months.

Any way I can get them to throw in SF on my Ticket? My install date is 7/18.

Some have used negotiating with DTV for free SF, myself and many others received a letter last year that entitled us to a free receiver (since sunday ticket has some interactive features and many did not have a interactive recever) and free Super fan this year. I kept my letter stored away, so I could reference it when I needed it!

58 days untill the NFL Kicks off!!!!!!!!

For the deal your getting, I would be very, very happy....
They are giving you all the movie channels and HD package for 4 months, all you have to do is purchase the ST for what did they say $ 280....
Esentually you are paying $ 50 for the premier package good for 4 months...
This is a great deal, No I would not expect them to throw in the SF for free.... and they gave you a HD/ DVR thats more than they gave me last year .......

That IS the BEST PROMO of the year..... It won't get any better than that.

Through general conversation about the HR10-250, just expressed my concern about having to pay extra for SF, when I already subscribe to HD package AND Sunday Ticket. Rentention specialist said he could give it to me for no charge. He did comment several times about my excellent account history. I am also on auto renew for the Sunday Ticket.

I would like to know if I need superfan to get ST games in HD besised the local market?
Outside of your local market , (local market will be blacked out, unless they have come to an agreement since last year, there was hope, but nothing officail)
YES you would need the Super Fan package to get any HD games from D*, thats refering to the ST not ESPN and NBC and NFL network.

Sunday Ticket at home is a good value relative to the cost of going out to a bar to watch the games. However, Sunday Ticket is far more expensive than the baseball, basketball or hockey packages, and I'm sure that has a lot to do with 1.) Demand; 2.) The monopoly on NFL games. I'm probably like most Sunday Ticket subscribers: I hate the price, hate the DTV monopoly, wish there was a choice, but I want to see Giants games, so I'm willing to be held up. In my opinion, DTV, as always, takes advantage of its subscribers.
It's called business, and DirecTV isn't the only culpable one here...

Take a look at the other sports leagues that have season pacakges. In each instance, the league sets the price to the consumer, and the league rakes in half of each subscription. Of the non-NFL leagues, the highest take in season packages belongs to the NHL. It is estimated the NHL may make about $100 million off of their half of Center Ice. Which means another $100 million is split between the cable companies and DBS companies.

The NFL, who believes in exclusivity, has sold DirecTV a package of out-of-market Sunday afternoon games for $700 million a year. It is estimated that DirecTV does not make money on Sunday Ticket.

So, when discussing DirecTV's greed, let's not forget the NFL's.

DTV will never make money off it they just use that to make money on the Total packages. It's a good marketing tool even if one person only gets it one time because they may earn a customer for years afterwards. DTV will be the only that that ever gets it because the NFL has to protect the obscene amounts they get from the networks. 700 million isn't a lot compared to what they get from TV and now with more weeknight games this year this makes ST look less appealing to me. Sunday, Monday, and Thursday night games is a lot of football so why should I bother next year when I can probably get Fox E&W for a couple bucks a month?
I just want to try it once. And since my team is local here I will only use it half of the time other than the bye and primetime games.

Well, $700 million is quite a bit of money to the NFL. The only other television revenues will be coming from FOX (which pays a little more than the same amount), CBS (which pays a little less), NBC (which pays a little less) and ESPN (which pays quite a bit more).

And I don't believe it will be so easy to get FOX East and West. The clamps will be coming down on the distant network packages soon enough.
