So is the actual phone
Do you look at your phone while you're driving? I believe that's illegal in most states these days.

Navaghation is kinda hard with only Voice ...Car play isn't needed as long as you can connect with blue tooth you can play whatever you want from your phone through the car audio system.
I have a 12.5" screen to look at for navagation, I don't want to have to do that on a 6" phone, at 70 mph ...So is the actual phone
So I can get Waze (which is visual) to work using just Bluetooth from my phone? Doesn't seem to work that way on my car.So is the actual phone
CarPlay is visual as well as audio.
I would not be considering full EV, most likely hybrid.Government Motors is making a considerable number of dumb moves lately.
That said, Tesla and Rivian don't support CarPlay either, so your options in the mainstream EV space are very limited (Ford Mach-E, Hyundai, and Kia?).
Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Polestar, Renault, and Volvo are currently refusing to support CarPlay Ultra.
If you use screen projection (assuming your vehicle's infotainment system supports it), pretty much anything you can do on your phone can be done on the car display (including voice commands). So I can get Waze (which is visual) to work using just Bluetooth from my phone?
The way I look at it, WAZE is for the Younger crowd ...I don't get the appeal of Waze, especially since all the crowd-sourced information is part of parent company Google and incorporated in Google Maps, anyway. And, most implementations of AAOS support Waze as a Play Store app, so you can have Waze in your big screen without having to use your phone.
The screen in the Volvo is to my liking, where I have Google Map shown in front of me, with upcoming turns and an ETA. We can do the same in the Cadillac Optiq, but it's not laid out as I would like. I end up with the default speed indication in front of me and the Nav screen in the center screen. You can also show a smaller version that includes the Music player beside it. That's pretty good for daily use.
Waze will go off the beaten track to get you where you want to go if it is faster. Google Maps is relatively conservative in striving to keep to major thoroughfares.I don't get the appeal of Waze, especially since all the crowd-sourced information is part of parent company Google and incorporated in Google Maps, anyway.

- You're driving and want the fastest possible route.
- You love seeing live, detailed road alerts (speed traps, hazards, cops).
- You want hands-free hazard reporting while driving.
- You enjoy quirky features (fun voices, avatars).
- You don't need walking, biking, or transit directions.
Should have just said you would think about it and given it a week and possibly gotten a lower price.Monday quarterbacking.Just did the annual cancel dance via chat. The opening offer was $99 year plus fees for Music and Entertainment. Ended up at $83.97/year including fees. The package includes all the sports, Stern (which I dont listen to) and streaming.
Mine is up for renewal in December. I wont spend more than $5/mo. plus tax. That's what it's worth to me. I wish there was a way to lock in the price without the "annual cancel dance" as you call it.Just did the annual cancel dance via chat.
