I know of a website where you can type in the diagonal, width, or heigth of a normal or widescreen television and it will give you the rest of the dimensions. This is helpful for those that want to get a good idea of how much space a tv will take up in a entertainment center or in the room before buying one.

Here is another one I've used many times for comparing sizes of a normal vs. widescreen tvs. It was especially useful for a friend who was trying to decide between a 30 inch 16x9 or 32 inch 4x3. As much as I would usually preach widescreen, the results, at least for this example, say otherwise.
