The Mentalist

Thanks for reminding. I have the feeling that after the Red John saga, and with those breaks, they are still trying to decide what direction to take (if any) with the show.

If they have to choose between it and Good Wife, I think it will lose, but who can tell what the network genius's will do. I do think it has gone down hill quickly since Red John. Too much dancing around the FBI chief.

Just finished watching and I liked the episode, not too much of the FBI director, then I thought I didn´t care for Rigsby and Van Pelt subplot, but the ending was more interesting than the rest of the episode.
So I ended up with mixed feelings about the new format and episode, I´ll prepare myself for cancellation anyway.

Geronimo already posted yesterday post 12 of that thread. While not officially cancelled yet, I'm not looking for it to be renewed.

Not picked up is The Mentalist, the veteran procedural’s first time not being among the early renewals. The long-running drama has been on the bubble and, unlike Hawaii Five-0, Blue Bloods or The Good Wife, whose ratings have been on par or lower, Mentalist is not owned by CBS, making off-network money for the company the way the other three shows do. But The Mentalist is a very important property for Warner Bros TV with a very lucrative syndication deal and strong international sales, so expect the studio to fight hard for a seventh-season renewal, especially after the post-Red John creative reboot of the show was deemed successful. (The Mentalist creator/showrunner Bruno Heller’s expected departure to run his new series, Gotham at Fox, is not expected to be a major factor in the decision-making.)

Sunday night has quietly turned an outstanding night for television programming...very competitive.
Yep, I have to do some creative timer scheduling on Sun, between the nets and cable. Not sure about the quietly, though. Always been near the top of the week in my recent, and long term, memory.
