I have 3 Roku Ultra's and a Roku 4K stick. I have been having buffering issues while fast forwarding through recorded programs sometime. Happens about half the time now. When I get to the point to play, it will buffer for 7-10 seconds sometime. Amazon 4K Fire Stick's and Nvidia Shield has no problems with buffering.
I have cleared cache and restarted but nothing helps. I guess my last resort is to delete app then reinstall.
Anyone else notice issues while using YTTV while using any Roku?

Nope, what kind of router do you have?

No buffering per se, but I have noticed the preview is missing while fast forwarding on my Firesticks of late. No similar issue on the Shield so far.

Thanks guys.
I have fiber optic and use the router that was supplied. Smart/RG. One is via Ethernet while the other Rokus are wireless but same problem on all.
I submitted a ticket with YTTV.

Be curious to see what others think but I would bet that's your problem. Usually the routers that ISP's provide are the cheapest ones they can get their hands on.

Are you able to change the DNS servers that your router hands out to DHCP clients? I use Google's but there are a number of good options like OpenDNS, CloudFlare, etc. which might work better than using your ISP's DNS servers.

As far as I know I can't change DNS servers. I did use Google on my smart tv several years ago that did help the issue I was having with the tv at the time.
Why would my Roku's have this problem and only with YTTV and not my Amazon stick or Nvidia Shield using the same DNS server?
I like the Roku pq better than the Amazon stick but is on par with the Shield to my eyes.
YTTV are monitoring the recordings on the Roku but I'm not really confident they will be much help.
I do appreciate the help!

Well, as I read more it isn't clear exactly what DNS servers Roku uses. There are some indications it might not use the DNS servers handed out by your router, but rather DNS servers Roku servers tell the device to use. Additionally, the Roku app might connect to different YTTV servers than the Android-based devices do. I know from past experience that Netflix behaved that way, where one device would work while another was not. Some network snooping showed the difference devices connecting to different Netflix servers. That is just speculation though.

I always wondered why I can setup my smart tv and change DNS server but can't do the same with external device such a Roku or Amazon Fire stick.

You can on the Firestick. Here is one guide:

Putting account on hold for a few months. No new tv for a while and I don't see college football happening as most conferences are just kicking the can down the road hoping for a quick miracle. I'll be using Philo for now. The really good thing about these services I can come back anytime without any kind of penalty!

I'm starting to get more value out of YouTube TV now that sports are coming back. In addition to baseball, I'm getting to see some sports that normally wouldn't be televised as much. For example, my city has a new minor league soccer team whose games are all televised, and my city also has a World Team Tennis team whose matches are in the broadcast rotation. It also helps that I get my local CW, which has a few new shows/seasons this summer.

I do watch other sorts too and use to watch news but stopped watching news networks several months back. I really hate the way they "report" the news. I want facts not someone's opinion. I still can get my local news with news on app. I see all sports right now as more of exhibitions right now as much as I want real thing.....it's just not there for me now. I could change my mind next week.

I believe the NVIDIA Shield does, though I don't have one personally.

Anyone got a nVidia Shield to test with, if so what model do you have?
I once thought about getting one so this could be good news.

Nope neither my cube nor my sticks do. Must have been the Shield I was thinking of? That is a bit surprising TBH as I would expect all the Android apps to behave essentially the same.

Checked the shield. If I understand the question right the shield does not show a thumbnail preview while scrolling the live guide.
It does have the feed going behind the guide, and you can see it through it and hear it.

If I misunderstood the question my apologies.
