If the actuator works and the acme nut isn't worn out then it would be definitely cheaper than buying a tek2000. But I'm spoiled with access to more dishes than I could possibly use so for $200 it would have to be pristine.

How about this one? It's free lol.i went driving around nearby and found a guy with this satellite.he said free take it.im going to give him alot of beer.

Free is always the best!! :)

Both dishes look good, the last one the better.

BUT, both of those mounts look like they were home made! Or to put it another way, they were Southern engineered!

What would be best way to dismantle and take home? Just remove dish from pole and take apart the panels? Im going to take the pole too.might as well.

I've never see a dish like it, but for free, you can't go wrong on that one. It sure has a lot of ribs. Go for it. It looks bigger than a 10 footer, but the picture could be deceiving. Nice find. :)

Is it possible to move it without disassembling it? If so, that would be how I'd move it. I never like taking one apart if I don't have to. Sometimes that's not possible, depending on where you live. You have to be extra careful when moving one still assembled so you don't clip someone's car. We have very narrow secondary roads around here, and so far, I've moved 2 12 footers and several 10 footers, and never whacked another vehicle. My luck may run out one of these days. :)

thanks for the help guys.well i measured over 10ft with measuring tape.didnt have a ladder to fully measure it.i think its a 12 footer.ill see if i can borrow a small trailer.my brother has a dually pickup.

ok so we split the dish in half and took it on the trailer.the only bad thing is the bolt broke off from two lnb arm holder or whatever its called lol.i was thinking of telling my brother to weld new bolts to the damaged ones.

That shouldn't be too difficult to repair. If you have someone to weld another bolt to the feed arm, it should work just fine. That's why I try to move a dish all in one piece. You may not have been able to do that, but even with the broken bolt, you were lucky. Nice find. :)

That might not be so easy to repair properly. The threaded rod welded to the LNB feed arms ends looks like aluminum and the nuts were uncoated or zinc plated steel. (that's probably why they broke cause they were rusted solid to due dissimilar metal corrosion). Is it possible to weld steel to aluminum? If not then he'll have to get more aluminum threaded rod (maybe expensive or very hard to obtain ).
My recommendation would be to use stainless steel hardware to prevent further corrosion. He might get away with using what's left of the threaded rod without welding more to it but moving the nuts farther up might screw up his F/D setting.

The best way how to fix it IMHO is to cut away existing rode and weld nut at the end of the tube. And then insert the rode inside the nut. So, you will get adjustable-length feedarms. IMG_20140718_134947 (Large).jpg
And, I totally agree with beavs2112 about using INOX for this.

Or just make 3 new support arms out of conduit. Measured to length, off course. ;)

IMHO, I would be concerned that there isn't play in the mount. That is a lot to ask of one attachment point:

Edit: If pic doesn't post, I'm referring to how the mount pivot bar only attaches at the bottom. My pc or connection is acting up this morning. :coco
