Hello, I apoligze for making this so long!

I have an HR21 in the living room and have never noticed any channels missing. I do however, on the mpeg4 HD from 103 or 99, receive a searching for signal 771 a couple times a week and need to change the channel and then back to get a picture. It does it on tuner1 and tuner2. That is real frustrating when it does that on a recording! My main question though is with strengths for the 101 satellite. See my signal strengths below.

The readings from 101 on an H21 in the bedroom as a control:
1-8: 94 96 96 0 96 98 94 98
9-16: 94 96 96 0 94 100 94 100
17-24: 94 0 96 0 94 98 96 98
25-32: 94 0 96 94 94 98 94 100

No transponders go from a high signal strength to 0 as the numbers refresh.
A total of 5 transponders with a 0 reading.

101 Tuner 1:
1-8: 95 96 95 0 95 99 96 99
9-16: 95 96 96 0 96 100 96 100
17-24: 95 0 0 0 95 100 96 99
25-32: 95 0 96 95 99 94 99

Transponder 21 will go from 95 to 0 as the numbers refresh.
A total of 7 transponders potentially with a 0 reading.

101 Tuner 2:
1-8: 95 96 95 0 0 99 95 99
9-16: 95 96 95 0 0 100 96 100
17-24: 95 0 0 0 0 100 96 99
25-32: 95 0 0 95 95 96 95 99

Transponders 5, 13, 17, 27 will go from 95'ish to 0 as the numbers refresh.
A total of 10 transponders potentially with a 0 reading.

Finally my questions! Does the disparity in signal strengths possibly indicate an issue with the wiring to the living room? If the wiring is an issue, could that be causing my 771 issues with the mpeg4 HD channels? My signal strengths on the 103 and 99 satellites are fine and don't fluctuate from 0 to <Insert High Number Here>. See below for their readings. I appreciate any feedback! Thanks!

The only transponders on the 101 that SHOULD be 0 are #18 and #28. Since You've got several more than just those two it suggests that there is a wiring issue. Could be something as small a single thread of silver braid contacting the copper center conductor in one of the fitting somewhere.

I should note that is for the Cincinnati area only, I do not know if other areas are supposed to have have multiple 0's, but if that happened here, it would definitely be some kind of wire issue.

I switched out the receivers and the H21 exhibited the same transponder signal strength fluctuations in the living room as the HR21. That only confirmed that it is indeed the cabling. I appreciate your reply, I'm going to go over all the F Connectors and cabling this weekend.

If that doesn't do it I'll have to call out an installer under the protection plan.

Whoa pump your brakes. DEPENDING where you live determines how many 0's you will see and which transponders give you number.
