What is the difference in a Universal and a standard LNB?
Comparing a Standard .5 with Universal .4, which would be better?
Is there a different setting you have to change in the receiver?
Any help would be appreciated

The lower the noise value (.4) the better the LNBF, you have to change your LNBF L.O. from 10750...........to..........09750 for a universal, you would also have to turn on the 22khz switch. A universal LNBF has a wider freq. range than a standard LNBF, it also has the 22khz tone switch that switches it from low to high band. On the down side a universal LNBF cant be used with a signal meter (unless like my meter it has the 22khz switching) because of the internal switch, so if you plan to use a signal meter I would buy one of each (Standard + Universal).

Standard LNBF 11.7-12.2GHZ.......................L.O. = 10750

Universal 10.75-12.2GHZ.......................L.O.=09750(no 22khz tone)

............................................................L.O.=10600 (with 22kz tone)

Have the 22khz tone enabled for a universal LNBF it then switches bands automatically.
