unplugging receiver and programming?

anyone else here unplug their receiver when gone, if so how long can one have it out of the stream w/o losing your programming, thanks.

Do you mean the guide data or your programming authorizations?

If it's the guide, I'm not sure how long it takes before you start to lose it. Being as D* uses a constant stream to update the guide, it may not be something you notice right away.

As far as the programming authorizations go, if your receiver doesn't see signal for about 30 days, it is automatically deactivate by D* until you call customer service and have them reauthorize it.
 
i meant the programming authorizations, if its close to a month before the receiver gets deactivated then i should be safe unplugging before going on holidays in the summer for approx. 2 weeks, i hate leaving it plugged in cause i get lots of power spikes during storms where i live, thanks.
