WMFD just showed up on my TV in Cleveland.....never heard of the station before.

Yes, looking at it now. Not the best channel, but at least not a shopping channel. Good for the folks in Mansfield, as it looks like it covers local news for Ashland county.

Looks like WMFD has been on DirecTV, according to Wikipedia.

Another thing I just noticed: They are mapping to the digital assignment (12) and not the analogue assignment (68), which PSIP would normally map the channel to.

Hey, this channel is better than I thought!!! It looks like they carry Morning Express with Robin Meade from 7-8am. Robin is one huge thing I messed from my SD pack (as I am HD Absolute). I wish it started at 6am, but hey, not a bad deal. Not sure how long it will last due to the HLN format changes, though.

Interestingly, it seems Robin Meade got her start at WMFD. Although their own news broadcast does have a certain "high school journalism class broadcast" quality due to the budget.

I was laughing my ass off at their news last night. High school journalism class quality might be giving it too much credit. The weatherwoman was so bad I was starting to feel sorry for her.

Hey, better than having no local news for those in Mansfield. I was trying to be generous.

One thing I just noticed, though: Cleveland is and EA DMA. If it is must carry, don't they need to get it on 61.5? May be tight as 61.5 spot 4 TP 1 already has 7 MPEG4 SDs and 4 HDs.
