Viacom & Time Warner Reach New Carriage Deal

With mere days to go before their latest deal expired, Time Warner Cable and Viacom announced a new carriage agreement today. Among keeping the Viacom channels on for New Year's, the near last minute multi-year deal adds premiere cabler EPIX to the TWC lineup for the first time.

It's a good move for both parties...althought Netflix offers most of the same movies that Epix has, it would be nice to check out Epix's original content.

In another TWC deal, they just renewed a carriage agreement with Tribune Broadcasting. Now that Tribune took over operations of This TV, I hope that the TWC Los Angeles system finally offers that subchannel here locally.

Time Warner was pretty beaten up by the CBS deal, I do not expect that they will have a lot of disputes for a couple years.

It is not offered here either. But, of course their contract with Marvel ran out, so they should not be as in demand as before.

I had them befor on another provider and to me they are worth it. they are starting to do well with some of their original programming and concerts
