Amazon End of Summer Sale!

http://www.amazon.com/b/?node=72669...ef_=acs_ux_hsb_5s_1_s_DVGHPBB&tag=satell01-20

Some deals here are familiar but some good ones. I might pick up the big Sonic bundle where you get 17 games for $12.29. Just need to get home first and redeem one of my Amazon gift cards. The "Metro" games are really cheap as well, and there's a few indie deals thrown in there. Seems like the big players are Sega, Deep Silver, 2K, and Activision, and some EA (Titanfall for $20.)

Games with Gold for September games have been announced.. I guess Sony and Microsoft agreed to not get us excited about much with their free games for the month..

I actually am excited about Super Time Force. The concept sounds really cool to me. I almost bought it day one. I haven't had my 360 since the Games With Gold program started so this is the first game Microsoft has offered that I actually wanted. Guacamelee was great but I already had that on both PSN and Steam.

Edit: it is a bit of a rip that they left Crimson Dragon up for a second month in a row. They did the same thing with Max the Curse of Brotherhood. They made it seem like we would get 2 Xbox One games and 2 360 games every month but it looks like they are really one doing 1 new Xbox One game per month. They are just leaving them up for 2 months now and staggering it so there is a new one every month.

GOG is losing a bunch of games on September 2nd, so they've put them all on sale with discounts up to 80% off. Worth taking a look. The ones that stand out are Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Painkiller: Black Edition. I STRONGLY recommend Painkiller if you're into FPS games at all. It's a nice callback to retro FPS games where escort missions and realism take a backseat to fun.

Gamefly is having a back to school PC sale. It looks like this will be 4 days long with different deals each day.

Child of Light is 40% off at $8.99. This is a game I want and the best price I have seen on it yet but I think I'm going to hold out a little longer.

XCOM Enemy Unknown: Complete Edition is also interesting at 70% off for $14.93. The reason it's interesting is because it includes the Enemy Within expansion and I haven't seen a way to get the game and expansion for that price before. The complete edition is $25 in Amazon's current PC sale or you can buy the base game and the expansion separate for $10 each.

I'd say just wait on CoL. It'll definitely come down in time and it's not like we'll be starved for games anytime in the near future.

Yeah plus Sony and Microsoft are both pushing indie/smaller games for their free games programs. It seems like there is a decent possibility that Child of Light will end up free on one of those platforms eventually.

Very cool. I like the idea of letting people pick the game they want to bundle with their new console instead of using the games Microsoft picks. Too bad this offer only lasts a week.
This deal also works for bundles, so you basically get 2 games now.

Even better. If I didn't have an Xbox One already this would be very appealing. Too bad it won't be active at the same time as the Sunset Overdrive bundle. Taking that bundle with a free copy of Destiny would be a great way for someone to get into the new console generation.

I hope Sony starts to feel the heat and offers some decent bundles as well. The Second Son one was tempting. A Madden 15 one (like Xbone has) would've been a no brainer for me two weeks ago. For "older" games, at this point, I'd only take a Watch Dogs bundle. Second Son would still be a possibility if it came with another game or a year of Plus.

The humble store is having an end of summer sale. New deals every day and a free game every Monday until the 22nd.
Was about to post this. Actually it's not just every day.. some sales last just a few hours. Better to jump on these sooner rather than later.

Some noteworthy sales:

The Wolf Among Us is $9.99

Gone Home is $7.99

And in a REALLY good deal, Psychonauts is 99 cents. Seriously, this is a REALLY good game. Excellent writing and acting, although the last level is MIND NUMBINGLY frustrating. Here's the review that turned me on to the game:

I originally passed it over but you sold me on Psychonauts. At 99 cents I can afford an impulse purchase.

It's a really good game. Yeah the gameplay isn't the best in the world, and the last level in particular suffers not from actual difficulty but because of awful level design. Seriously, it almost drove me to stop and just look up the ending on Youtube, but I persevered and made it. But it's just such a cool world and with such fun characters that it really makes up for it.
