VIP 612 Acquiring Signal then black screen

I've got the 612 hooked up via HDMI and when I reset the box, I get the "Acquiring Signal" screen and get 1-5 out of 5. Everything seems successful then I get a black screen. No sound, video, or any indication that it's working. I called support, what a joke, they're sending a tech tomorrow between 12-5! Anyways, I checked all the connections turned everything off and on again, but to no avail. Any ideas? Oh, and I searched before getting to this point.
 
... and it started working now. Just took a few hours of patience.

They should have sent you a new receiver. The rep only sent a technician because the employees are ranked negatively by the number of returns they process. By this I mean warranty exchange. Dish sends you a new receiver and prepaid shipping label for the defective box, no cost to you if you have DHPP.
