Defective diseqc switch!!

After a couple more hours of trying everything imaginable, and just before I was going to have a go at the other half of that bottle of Merlot, I remembered I had a couple of old 2x1 diseqc switches in a drawer somewhere. I found them, replaced the brand new switch that came with the Visionsat, and BINGO! She scanned Ku like a champ. Honest to Pete! What are the odds?

Anyway, thanks to everyone for being so helpful. I appreciate it. :hatsoff:

DiSEqC switches can be the weak link in the chain. Many are of very poor quality, and all are sensitive to voltage spikes on the coax. For this reason, always remember to turn your receiver off (by rear switch or unplugging) before connecting or disconnecting cables where a DiSEqC switch is involved.
