We spend a few months in Mexico and brought a starchoice 75E dish and 305 receiver with us. Had to mount the dish on the roof of our condo.
The conduits through the roof membrane were already full of SKY and DISH cables but we got two RG6 cables through. One goes to my place and the other to another Canadian guy four flights up.
Currently we are tuned to the satellite that brings in Non-High Def programming and our signal strength varies from 55-62. The picture is entirely satisfactory.
A friend just brought us down a DSR 505 and so we want to hook it to TV1 and then connect the DSR305 to TV2. Basically we want to have two receivers but we only have one RG6 cable to work with. Also the guy who brought the receiver down wants to get starchoice now that he has seen the quality of the picture. So that would be one more receiver.
I understand that we can get a multiswitch.
Can we feed the multiswitch from a single cable?
Because of the problem with the conduits can we put the multiswitch at the point where our RG6 from the satellite joins the built in cable to our unit?
If another user wants to join this system can he run a DSR505 from one of the multiswitch outputs?
Currently we cannot get High Def channels and have been told that we need to tune to the High Def satellite not the Regular programming satellite. If we do this will it lower the signal strength from the Low Def satellite?
I would really really really appreciate any answers to these questions.
Thanks in advance
David
