In the same story on the news at 6, KMOV reported on the Dish fox resolution, they added that KMOV could be pulled from the dish, as soon as sunday... Then they read a statement by the GM of the station Allan Cohen, Statement found here:

A KMOV message about DISH Network | St. Louis News, Weather, Sports | KMOV.com | St. Louis Weather, News and More | Featured Content

This could bring an INTERESTING set of events for our local cable provider, why you may ask? Well our cable company uses Dish network satellites to get ALL of the local channels, except PBS who's tower is 20 miles away. Luckily we have a backup on cable with WTHI Terre Haute, or KFVS Cape Girardeau for CBS network programming, so it's not a total loss of CBS for us Wabash cable subscribers, however it would mean losing the news from KMOV and an extra NFL football game cuz typically KFVS, KMOV, and WTHI ALL show different games on CBS.

KMOV is a Belo station, all of the Belo O&O are about to go into a dispute as the contract ends on Nov 6 at 11:59:59 PM (not sure which time zone, i presume central since Belo is based in Dallas, which is in the Central Time Zone).

see this Thread, since it most likely will become the official Dish-Belo Dispute thread if a new one isn't created right as soon as the channels get remove:

When broadcasters try to compensate for decreased advertising income by passing the bill down to providers and ultimately consumers, you get dispute, especially when they get their political ideologies involved. Many local Fox stations ran into a dilemma in 2004 when (pardon me I don't remember the name of the O&O group) produced that anti-John Kerry swift boat captain program it was forcing their stations to air. Many local advertisers said they would pull advertising when consumers said they wouldn't purchase their products if they advertised on the station, the stations countered with it wasn't them it was their parent company, the advertisers didn't care, the stations said they wouldn't air it, the O&O said they would pull all support, etc. All over political ideology, not business! Rupert Murdoch (head of the GOP, Australian Division) and his merry band of past morning zoo alcoholic yes men has pulled the same thing with Charlie and his merry band of tree hugging, baby aborting, Nazi Commie socialist hippies. Or so the story goes.

sorry guys I didn't see the other thread. Mods if you want by all means merge the thread so that we can have 1 main thread. my bad.
