I need to purchase a new DVI cable to hook my HD receiver to my HDTV (finally upgrading from component), and would like recommendations from you all, about which DVI cable is really the best, in terms of picture quality and value. I would like to not have to spend $100 for one, such as a Monster. More like under $50, would be great. :)

Check out http://www.pacificcable.com/DVI.htm. You don't have to spend more than $20/$25 for a DVI cable. Monster prices are ridiculous and unnecessary.

Thanks!!! but which cable is best for me? Should I go with DVI-I or DVI-D, does my DVI output convert everything to digital if set at 1080i output, even if it comes into the reciever as analog? can anyone think of any other DVI cables they would recommend?

DVI-D is what you want, but unless you have a fixed panel display such as plasma, lcd or dlp, you will not notice a difference in picture.
