My dad has a Digiwave hd9008i that isn't working anymore.
He used it to watch RTPi and RDP.
He lives in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Which receiver would be the best and easiest to setup and use for RTPi and RDP?
Thanks.

The Amiko mini HD RE is a good STB. Easy to operate and many in use for RTPi.
I ordered the Amiko mini HD RE from the link you posted and got it today.
I did a blind scan for free Radio & TV, and it found RTPi America and a few other good channels, but it didn't find the RDP radio channel.
I did another scan for All & Radio, but still no RDP. :(
There are a few extra channels that I will delete, but is there a way to edit the settings of one of these channels to change it to RDP.
I would like to set the video to show RTPi and audio to be RDP.
I looked thru the manual but couldn't find how to manually edit channel settings.
Can anyone explain how to do it on the Amiko and the numbers for RTPi video and RDP audio I have to input?
Thanks.

Start with this video and watch all of them and see if that helps you out! If not post back and I will be glad to help. Would go into a longer explanation, but a lot of people here for the holiday.

I watched all the videos but they had nothing about manually creating or editing a channel.
Like I mentioned above, scanning doesn't find the RDP radio channel.
So can I edit one of the other channels with the RTP video and RDP audio?
I was able to do it on my previous receivers.
Is it possible to do it on the Amiko and how do I do it?

Also, there is a background static noise and two faint but noticeable bars across the screen slowly moving up about every 15 seconds.
Is it some kind of RF interference and is there a way to filter it out?
The previous receiver didn't have this problem.

Thanks.

If someone else does not come along, when I get home tonight I will post the procedure.

As far as the two faint lines. I have never seen that problem on this receiver.
When I have saw that before with other devices, it is usually a bad cable, or port on TV.
The cable should be shielded so if it is RF interference, it is something really strong.

I did not observe that on the receiver when I tested it here and upgraded firmware and channel list.
If so I certainly would not have shipped it. :)

For a quick text how to:
  • Go to Menu

  • Hit Yellow button on Remote
  • Edit or Add new with the color keys
  • White key to enter or edit PID info.

I hope this helps you get this set up like you wanted. :)
