What signals can you "see" at 61.5?

I'm guessing that WUTB (24) and WNUV (54) are in 480 X 480i. Is the other the PBS channel, WMPT (22)?
WUTB might as well be in SD. They have the power on minimal, and almost no one can pick it up.
Hopefully that's fixed before Smackdown moves from WNUV(WB) to WUTB(My).

It's a little odd that WNUV has been put up at 480 X 480i because according to AVS Forum, WNUV is now sending out a 720P signal full time. AVS Forum - View Single Post - Washington, DC / Baltimore, MD - HDTV
WUTB is still having delays installing their new transmitter and with the FCC. AVS Forum - View Single Post - Washington, DC / Baltimore, MD - HDTV

WNUV has been quirky ever since they started that. My picture has been jerkier than ever. Before, everything looked great with CW programming and especially the ACC tournament, but since the change it's been spotty.
WUTB is a basket case, which is surprising as they are Fox owned & operated.

I am now getting very low signal strength readings (30's) for transponders 17, 19, and 21. These used to be over 60. They still show locked on 61.5 and no spotbeam. But it sure looks as though those transponders have gone into spotbeam mode...

19 still has (or maybe had, where is the uplink report) national HD on it. Perhaps the next uplink report will show the programming moved.

The Transponders listed with a reading but not locked take a long time to give a reading, the other come up right away. The readings have changed since last Wed. because I did not have a reading on Transponders 01 or 11 then, I am sure.

Don't wait more then a 10 seconds - you'll get a signal from adjusted transponder.

Also, tpns 4, 6, 26, 28 does not active at all - just skip them while doing the test.

Can you explain what a TID is for us will less knowledge?

I've heard them called Transponder ID and sometimes Transport stream ID's.

Basically it is a unique number for the beam whether it be CONUS or a spotbeam.

In this case, the 19xx's ones come from Jackson, MS. Also in this case the last two numbers are the transponder frequency/number.

Thanks for the info. More Questions.

Thanks. Now, if a given transponder has several spotbeams, will there be TID for each spotbeam? Can they come from different locations. Say spotbeam 1 coming from Jackson and spotbeam 2 on the same transponder from another location ? Also, are the uplinks we see on Wed. just a table being built for the receivers to see and the TID's the actual uplink being given to the transponder?

Knowing these details helps better understand the posts on this site.

1901 comes from Jackson, MS and covers one area.
1309 comes from New Braunfels, TX and covers southeast TX.

Each TID is a unique identifier. The uplinks you are see on Wed are a big picture built by the TID and SIDs. SIDs being channel numbers. A CONUS satellite will only have up to 32 TID's. A spotbeamed bird will have many more as it has multiple uplinks and downlinks.

TIDs 1901 and 1903 from the Jackson, MS uplink are now alive and kicking.

I believe those are Jackson, MS and Mobile, AL HD LiLs.

Good to hear about the HD locals for Jackson, maybe they will show up this week. Of course, now I have a choice to make, get a wing dish for 61.5 or wait until Eastern Arc and see if I can get the 1000.4 dish installed. Any hope of becoming a guinea pig (beta tester) for the eastern arc?

Thanks for the info Digi and all that you do for us.

I don't seem them going this week. Maybe within a month?

Anyone get better than low 30's signal on 61.5

I lost two HD channels in Puerto Rico
