You don't even need the H+ to be installed in the first place ....
Over a year ago I requested an upgrade to Joey4's (NOT the "Joey4K" or "Wireless Joey4", just the regular "Joey4"

). I did NOT have to buy them myself; they are leased from Dish at the standard $7/month for each box. The Dish Tech came out, replaced all 3 of my Joey3's with new Joey4's, and they immediately found MOCA and connected to my Hopper3 WITHOUT Plus ever being unboxed (he didn't even bring it in from the van).
I have been running this setup for over a year now without any major problems (only the minor 4K/HDR viewing stuff mentioned above). It even ran for a few months with the "old" Hopper UI, which recently updated automatically, and the whole setup is still working great!!
