Looks like only the HR24 has the 1080p button/light for 1080p content.

Which models HR20-24 support 1080p out?

I believe the HR20-HR24 does support 1080p if the receiver is hooked up via HDMI cable. My HR22 says it will automatically go to 1080p when its available, go to System Setup >HDTV >TV Resolution, i think that's what it is, and make sure all the boxes are checked and when you get down to 1080p it will test your TV and if you see the screen then you have 1080p supported. I know that my HR22 does not have the light that shows 1080p. Remember that only programs that are offered in 1080p will show up in 1080p otherwise it will show in 1080i. I know that you can rent movies in the Direct Cinema that say 1080p but I believe that is currently it, since most TV stations at max show 1080i and most still use 720p. 1080p is the resolution that is used for Blu-Ray so not many available TV shows will be shown in 1080p for a couple years.

The R22 will work as either SD or HD. I have 2 of them on my setup.

If you have HD and a "real" HD receiver (HR/H model) on the account the HD on the R22 gets turned on. Otherwise its SD only (they wont turn on the HD unless you have a HD receiver on the account. I had to get a H23 when I added HD)

Its just like a HR21 (I think) with the ability to be SD only on an account.
