One of the big reasons I don't watch a lot of 3D is because I don't own a lot of 3D movies. While I do have some, how many times can you watch Toy Story 3 in 3D. :D

I have a feeling if the 3D movies being sold today were priced the same as the non 3D version there would be more people interested in 3D.

Are there any places that rent 3D movies?

the site used a lot on blu-ray.com is 3D Blu-ray Rental Movies for Rent

You can also use Vudu for 1080p 3D streaming for rental but not exactly the same thing.

Based on some of the prices that the 3d-blurayrental.com is showing you can probably keep an eye on prices and get a good deal on titles for around the same cost.
(ex: John Carter could have been purchased at Walmart by doubling coupons for between $5 and $10 depending on the store. Harry Potter 7 parts 1 and 2 were $9.99 each at best buy, and Kung Fu Panda 2 was priced at $9.99 two weeks after release.) With the exception of one or two imports I don't think I've paid anything more for my 3D titles than I would non-3d releases.
