WHole house DVR setup

Okay, so this question has prob. been asked a million times but I am a confused, i need step by step instruction on how to set up my HR23-700 to the H23-600, my friend gave me two deca1mr0-01 and two band stop filters and said here this is all you need. But now what do i do with these things? Have to hook em up b4 calling to activate service. HELP!!!!
