Why haven't DirecTV put more emphasis into original content to retain/grow subscribers? Their series like Mr Mercedes, ICE, Condor, You Me Her are all all fairly niche and are not really mainstream enough to gain a large following. Charter are now delving into original content in order to retain/grow subscribers and have acquired LA's Finest from Sony for their cable platform. If Audience showed more mainstream hit series exclusive to DirecTV like those shown on cable channels TNT/USA/FX.
