Why Hawaii and Alaska get HDNet/Discovery HD in mpeg4?

I noticed on the satellite chart for 110, that people in Hawaii and Alaska get HDNet/Discovery HD in mpeg4?

Can we on the mainland or California get the better quality of mpeg4 for these channels?

It would take a VERY long piece of coax and a bunch of amps.

You have to be in AK or HI to see those channels because they are on spot beams. On the chart, "12s46" is tp 12, spot 46.
