I recently installed the glorystar geosat pro sattelite dish/receiver. it was working great until she unplugged it to plug in a fan, now after pluging it back in nothing happens, I can't get anything to come up, no menu, control panel, anything, any suggestions?

Did you tell her your next wife won't make that mistake? ;)

HAHA, no i didn't tell her that, don't think it would go over well.. I could not find any switch on the back of the receiver, there is a button on the front, I have powered on-off many times, still nothing??

HDMI cable, the port says port 7, tv set to input 7, wondering if by unplugging it she broke the receiver unit??

I got a feeling she's not giving you the whole story of what she really did... Maybe something accidently happened during her "unplug" and she didn't mention that part of it...

Which receiver?
If it is the HDVR 1200, it has a separate power supply with a small right angle plug. Make sure it is plugged in to the back of the receiver fully. You should see a red or green light on the front panel. If not, and you have a voltmeter - check for voltage at the right angle plug - should be 12 volts. If no voltage, plug the power supply into a different electrical outlet and test again. Good luck - let us know what you learn.

RCA plugs work, HDMI not working, went through all kinds of tests over the phone and tech said to return the unit for warranty, sent today, i'll report if the receiver was actually faulty.
