Ok you Wii folks out there! My family and I order our Wii for Christmas I went ahead and got some Component cables for it off MonoPrice. My question is what is the best way to get this thing to do surround sound? Since it looks like it does not have a Optical input on the back of the Console it looks like I might have to plug the component cable into my Audio Receiver to get the surround sound to work instead of going directly into the TV.. :)

Because the component cable includes RCA audio (red and white), the only way to do surround sound is through the audio receiver itself, if it supports it. I call it pseudo-surround. The audio receiver can make it go to all 5 or 7 speakers, but it's not truly surround.

Thanks for the feed back.. Yeah my audio receiver can handle it just that I was hoping that I would not have to mess with my audio receiver..

Visually with the components, I dont think you can output more then 480p on the Wii either, I may be mistaken...
