DirecTV delivery of distant signals is very similar to the copying of a newspaper and reselling it. It is illegal to copy a newpaper and sell it. So too it is illegal to deliver distant TV signals unless your local station is willing to waive their exclusive copyright to the programming.

Watching something a local affiliate isn't providing (watchable HDTV OTA) is not a copy of the signal that local station is providing (SDTV OTA). If the local can't or won't provide network HDTV, I should be able to get network HDTV from someone who will provide it. I don't give a damn what city the HD is coming from.

HDTV & SDTV are NOT the same and your argument holds no water. Give it up.
